About Us – The Story Behind Weiss Workshop

Hey there!

I’m Kayla, and along with my husband Kyle, we’re the duo behind Weiss Workshop — a small husband-and-wife business located in Sparkill, New York, just about 20 minutes north of Manhattan. What started as a small hobby in our cellar turned into something truly special — a creative space where engineering meets artistry, and passion meets purpose.

🪵 How It All Started

Kyle has always been that guy... the one who can take an idea, sketch it on paper, and somehow turn it into reality. He’s an electrical engineer, first responder and a proud Maritime College graduate, but honestly, his creativity runs far beyond his degree.

When we first started dating, I had a bunny named Oliver, and I mentioned wanting to get him an outdoor hutch. Most people would’ve gone to the store and bought one. Not Kyle. He grabbed a pencil, drew up a blueprint, and built a two-level rabbit hutch in a single day. No instructions. No YouTube tutorial. Just pure instinct and talent! Oliver even had laminate flooring on the top floor.

In 2022, we began selling handcrafted cutting boards made from high-quality wood, and before long, Kyle rediscovered an old love — 3D printing. What started with a small $300 printer in our cellar slowly transformed into a full-on workshop where creativity comes to life.

Now, we specialize in unique 3D printed items, cutting boards & candles that are as full of personality as the people who buy them.

✨ A little about me (Kayla!)

While Kyle runs the tools and tech, I run everything behind the scenes — our social media, marketing, and customer communication. A few years ago, I became disabled and was most recently diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, chronic migraines, and a handful of neurological and spinal issues that made traditional work impossible.

But Weiss Workshop became my outlet — a way to still connect, create, and build something meaningful from home. I’ve always been passionate about community outreach and creativity, and this little business lets me pour my energy into something I love every day.

✨ What’s up with the Beeswax candles?

Our beeswax candles / wax melts came from a very personal place. Because of my allergies and our pets, I wanted something clean, natural, and safe to burn in our home. Beeswax candles turned out to be the perfect solution! They’re non-toxic, pet-friendly, and even help purify the air by releasing negative ions that neutralize pollutants.

Each candle we pour is made with love and care, using pure beeswax and untreated wood wicks. Perfect for cozy nights or thoughtful gifts!
